We had some tiny helpers in the classroom this week! 🎀🧸

Our students practiced conducting hearing screenings, including otoscopy, and to practice making the process more kid friendly, they performed them on real kids! 👂

The students explained instructions in a kid friendly way, and each group ensured that it was fun and motivating for the child in a different way.

In honor of National Speech-Language Pathologist Day, we want to celebrate the incredible SLP community at Mount St. Joseph University. 🤍

Our students got to take a break from the classroom today and kicked off AAC class by taking the devices out into the community!

The students used AAC as their primary form of communication while talking with friends, ordering food, asking for directions, and more. They then reflected on their experience using AAC, talking to someone who uses AAC, and other people’s reactions.

What a fun way to get some hands on practice!

Faculty started off the semester with some fun sunglasses, floaties, and review games. They always know how to keep the students’ spirits high! 😎
