How lovely to be a child in summer time and enjoy simple pleasures like sand, water, mud, and sunshine with good friends! ☀️ 💗

Some recent pictures! At Dandelion House Nursery, I create a homey environment so that children can feel at home here in the years before starting school. Family like connection and lots of outdoor time is my focus.

May Day was a festive and joyous festival for the Dandelion House children! We welcomed Spring with music and dancing.

Note: I am going to begin posting a bit more about my program that I love, but am full for the 23/24 school year. I will update with any openings and am beginning to create a wait list.

Just a post to thank my lovely momma miss Amy or better known as “Ama” to the children. Here she is with my sister Teresa in 2001, then with my sister Liliana, my daughter Emma, and a few of our Dandelion House friends. Her patience, respect, and love for the children is so evident. What a gift she brings to the children.

Family style mixed age care is ideal for early childhood. This style allows children to form deep and lasting relationships with other children and adults. How wonderful to see that these children are able to pour their hearts into imaginative play and that they do not feel any pressure to learn their numbers and letters just yet.

“Children need relationship with people of all ages. Infants and toddlers thrive in family style blended age care, while older children see nurturing modeled by the adults and experience their own place in the continuum of growing up. Children of all ages can both give and receive special blessing when in company of elders and youth who enjoy children.”

Life itself is curriculum for our family style center. Yes, us teachers often spend our evenings and weekends coming up with new stories, songs, puppet shows, recipes, crafts. But the true curriculum is relationship based. The children are meant to feel at home here, each child a true part of our family.
