going through boxes of piano, guitar, and violin music. SO much classical music that few kids play these days. And music is now easily bought online as PDFs so you don't have to buy the whole 1/2" thick Schirmer book to get one sonata or etude...

Just FYI, if you ever see me tagged in a "i can't believe he's gone" post, LMK and report the poster for fraud. I try to keep the hackers at bay but they have their ways and FB is useless in removing hacker profiles. I think i've had ten friend requests from my deceased uncle in the last two years.

Have you noticed on social media that when you say "I like ..." or "I love ..." there are 4 or 5 comments that tell you how wrong you are for your position (more if you're a big name or celebrity). I have a phrase that pops in my mind each time I read those comments, particularly when they are directed at young or naive posters.

I love teaching about speech writing and speech making in our English and Literature classes. Two traditional speeches we study is Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and JFK's 1961 inagural address I've attached the links in the comment. They are good examples of making your point and using repetition. With an upcoming inaugural address, I strongly urge you to read what JFK said 60 years ago and tell me what you think our nation then and now.
