Little Explorers is a small in home preschool that believes in children learning through play while also providing them with the skills and tools they need to make a smooth transition to Kindergarten. Owned and operated by a licensed and dual certified teacher and childcare provider, Mrs. Holley is passionate about building a strong foundation for young learners that will carry with them throughou

t their schooling. As a former public school Prek and Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Holley has the education and background to prepare your child while also sharing her love for teaching and learning with them each and everyday. With plenty of hands on experiences, a theme based curriculum, and lots of time to play, explore and be a kid, your child will be sure to have fun while learning and being safely taken care of each day.

BLOCKS CENTER 🧱 Whether building with blocks, fake ice or space equipment there are so many benefits to playing in our Block center.

🧠 Problem-Solving Skills – Children experiment with how to make structures balance, stand, and work.
🏗️ STEM Learning – Blocks introduce early concepts of math, engineering, science, shapes, measurement, and spatial awareness.
✋ Fine Motor Development – Picking up, stacking, connecting, and arranging blocks strengthens little hands and coordination.
📐 Math Skills – Counting, comparing sizes, patterns, shapes, and one-to-one correspondence.
💭 Creativity & Imagination – A few blocks can become a house, castle, road, zoo, or anything a child imagines!
🗣️ Language Development – Children talk about their creations, explain their ideas, and learn new vocabulary.
🤝 Social Skills – Building together encourages sharing, cooperation, communication, and problem-solving with friends.

Just want to say thank you so incredibly much for all the donations purchased from my wish list for our classroom. From friends, family, former families, neighbors, strangers, whoever you are I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and kindness. My little preschool and my students mean the world to me. To give them so many awesome things that were purchased by others "just because" is truly amazing. They don't know how lucky they are but I do so thank you, thank you, thank you 🥲💕❤️💕 We love and appreciate each and every one of you ❤️

📚✏️ Today we're looking at our Reading and Writing Centers 🌿

These centers are more than just a place for books and pencils. It’s a space where our Explorers build important skills while having fun and using their imaginations!

At the preschool age, writing doesn’t have to look like traditional writing and reading doesn't mean sitting and reading a book word for word from front to back. Looking at pictures, following print, scribbles, drawings, pretend letters, name-writing, and creating their own stories are all important steps in becoming confident readers and writers.

Let's check out our centers! Starting with our Dramatic Play Center.

Our dramatic play center is one of the many ways we encourage children to explore, imagine, and learn through hands-on experiences. 🎭 At the beginning of the year it starts off simple as a home living center but then watch as it magically transforms into so many exciting adventures!

When children engage in pretend play, they are:
🌟 Building creativity and imagination
💬 Expanding language and communication skills
🤝 Learning cooperation, sharing, and problem-solving
🧠 Developing critical thinking skills as they plan and create together
❤️ Practicing empathy by taking on different roles and perspectives

Whether they are playing “family,” running a pretend store, caring for a baby, or creating their own adventures, children are building important life skills while having fun.

At Little Explorers, we believe that play is essential to development and every moment of play is an opportunity to learn! 💛

Can you believe school is just a month away!? Things have been busy, busy, busy over here getting ready for our re-opening. So excited to report though our inspections are complete and licensing will finally have our info back up soon yay! We cannot wait to welcome our next group of Explorers and their families soon.
