Outstanding work this weekend by the Woodland Hills Marching Band and Images Visual Ensemble!

This spring, the Woodland Hills Department of Performing Arts will stage a musical never before seen on the high school stage.
Woodland Hills is one of two schools in the country that will produce a pilot production of "Wonderland," a reworked edition of a 2011 Broadway show that has never been licensed for high schools to produce.
Here's the story on how Woodland Hills earned this special opportunity.

Over 90 students from multiple school districts gathered at Chatham University on Monday, Oct. 9 to undergo leadership training and begin preparations for the fifth annual Woodland Hills Student Summit.
The session at Chatham laid the groundwork for an expanded Student Summit, as 15 school districts will gather at Penn State Greater Allegheny on March 8. Led by host Woodland Hills, the Student Summit is centered on student-led discussions that cover topics hand-picked by the high school students.
This year's theme is "Unity Through the Branches of Growth." Wood is the traditional gift material for a fifth anniversary. That concept, combined with the continued expansion of the summit and the underlying quest to foster individual and community growth, helped generate the theme. Woodland Hills alum C.J. Swanson created an image to reflect the them and incorporated just a few of the schools that will be participating in the summit in March.

Today we were included in a mass email threat with many other schools. The threat is not specific and does not name Woodland Hills directly. Mr. Valles has made contact with our local Police Departments. At this time, we do not feel the threat is credible, but we are increasing Police patrols and internal security measures.
I wanted to make all staff and families immediately aware of this.
Please feel free to contact any of our buildings if you have any questions or concerns!

It’s almost unheard of for a high school marching band to nearly double in size over the span of a year without adding grades or some other unique circumstance. But that’s the case with the Woodland Hills Marching Band and Images Visual Ensemble, which saw its numbers skyrocket from 64 members during the 2022 season to 107 this year.
