Hey everyone, CVHS is helping out Rady Children's hospital this holiday season with the AJ's Kids Crane toy drive and I'd like to ask for YOUR help! 🎁💙

I would like to open this up to everyone and ask that anyone interested to please make a donation! Please drop toys or monetary donations off at CVHS by Nov. 16th so we can deliver them on the 17th. 😊

Here are some general rules that they have:
❌ you may not donate any used toys due to the fact many kids at the hospital have compromised immune systems.
❌ No stuffed animals (due to infection control)
❌ No guns, or any violent themed games, or comic books
❌ No religious articles, books
✅ monetary donations are accepted. Any money goes straight to the "Aj's Kids Fund" to buy toys, equip play rooms and fund several programs at the hospital

Need ideas on what to donate? Here are some ideas!
💗 New Released Movies (G, PG and PG 13)
💗 Board/card games (Uno/Monopoly/Jenga)
💗 Crayola Crayons/markers/paints
💗 $5 and $10 gift cards (iTunes, AMC, Target)
💗 Legos
💗 Toy cars
💗 Play-Doh
💗 Barbies and Superhero action figures
💗 Musical toys
💗 Books for parents to read to their babies (English and Spanish) such as Good Night Moon, Corduroy, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, etc.)
💗 infant toys such as rattles
💗 sensory toys that light up (not loud)
💗 Blankets

We will be delivering the toys November 17th, on the last day of the toy drive. Please share this with friends, family, and everyone you know! Message me for any further details.

We are attaching the schedule of events for Homecoming. Please advertise and pass along to any interested Spartans! We have asked for Homecoming Queens and BMOC's to rsvp if they will be at the Homecoming game so if you know of any of them will be attending please let me know their name and year that they were queen or BMOC. We want to include them in the halftime show as we crown the queen. Former queens and BMOC's can rsvp to [email protected]

Chula Vista High School is celebrating its’ 70th Homecoming celebration on Friday, November 4th, 2016. Please plan on attending, and being a part of this time-honored activity.
7:00 – 9:30am​ Alumni Tea​​​​ Learning Lab (old library)
10:00 am ​Homecoming Assembly ​​Gymnasium
11:30 am ​ASB Reception​​​​ASB Office
4:30pm​​ Gates open for the game​​
5:30 pm​​* Homecoming Parade​​ Stadium
7:00 pm​​ Football vs. Mar Vista High ​Stadium
8:30 pm ​​Coronation, Fireworks ​​Stadium

*ALL Alumni are invited to participate in our decade-by-decade parade beginning at 5:30pm on the south end of the track. We will have the banners to sign at the alumni tea and will be paraded around the stadium before the game.

Homecoming prices:
$6- Ages 6-12; 60 & over, Students with school ID
$8- Adults
Ages 5 and under are free
Unfortunately, ASB cards are not valid at this game.

If you are a former student, colleague or friend of OUSD’s top cowboy, Superintendent Larry Perondi, you are cordially invited to attend his upcoming retirement celebration.
We’ll be sending Larry off into the “retirement sunset” with a western-themed celebration, Friday, June 13. Please see the picture for official invitation for all the pertinent details.

So, please mark your calendar, rustle up your boots and hat, and RSVP to attend this once-in-lifetime event. Larry will be honored to celebrate with you as he celebrates a distinguished 40-year career in the field of public education.

Teachers Collect Funds to Benefit Slain Mar Vista Instructor's Children Rocio Duncan worked closely with special needs students at Mar Vista High School. Her husband Marvin Duncan allegedly killed her in a parking lot near the Imperial Beach sheriff's substation last week.

The implosion of the South Bay Power plant is scheduled to take place Saturday at 7 a.m. if weather and wind conditions permit. Are you going to watch it?
