If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you,k that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread,
and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Those preceding him as well as those following kept crying out:
'Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

Hosanna in the highest!'

“The Solemnity of the Annunciation is celebrated nine months before the Nativity of the Lord, a feast that came about earlier historically. The Annunciation recalls the day when the Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary and revealed God’s will that she become the Mother of the Son of God and she accepted. At that moment, the 'Word became Flesh and dwelt among us' (John 1:14).”

🏆We are proud of our Crusaders!💙
These past two weeks have been full of joy and victories:
Three of our middle school students, Christian Martin, Diego Paz Ramirez, and Diego Echavarria Cortez (not pictured), have been awarded the Principal Scholarship as incoming high school students at Mater Dei Catholic! A scholarship that covers 60% of tuition for 4 years for exceptional HSPT scores!
Furthermore, two of our high school students, Phoebe Domingo and Andrew Carta, were awarded the San Diego Seton Award for their joint dedication to living out the spirit of Christian service. This was a rare occasion, as there is usually only one student in the entire diocese honored with this distinction.
Congratulations—we are all very proud of you!

Today, we celebrate Epiphany, also known as Three Kings Day (Dia de los Reyes Magos) commemorating the Biblical Magi that honored Baby Jesus with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
"Then you shall be radiant at what you see,
your heart shall throb and overflow,
for the riches of the sea shall be emptied out before you,
the wealth of nations shall be brought to you.
Caravans of camels shall fill you,
dromedaries from Midian and Ephah;
all from Sheba shall come
bearing gold and frankincense,
and proclaiming the praises of the LORD."
