Mater Dei's Juan Diego Academy is a San Diego Diocesan elementary school that opened in August of 2015. We offer a 50/50 dual Spanish/English immersion curriculum based on the STREAM education model: Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Math, a method that serves to teach the child as a whole person. We are excited to be the first Catholic school in San Diego County to offer a full immersion program dedicated to creating completely bilingual and bi-literate students from grades TK–8. Located on the current Mater Dei Catholic High School campus in the Otay Ranch area of Chula Vista, CA, Juan Diego will begin in 2015-2016 by serving grades TK-2, and each year will add additional grades, until it becomes a full TK-8 school. Otay Ranch is a newly developed part of Chula Vista which has been continuing to grow over the past decade. In order to meet the needs of families in this area we have expanded to serve students from the parishes of Mater Dei and Corpus Christi, as well as other families in the community who are seeking a state-of-the-art, well-rounded education for their child. With our beautiful campus, innovative programs, small class sizes, and round-the-clock security, we are excited to be growing at Mater Dei to serve TK-12 students in our community.
