Montessori Explorer Montessori Explorer, the first Montessori school in the South Bay area of San Diego, aims to foster

Montessori Explorer, the number one Montessori school in the South Bay area in San Diego. The school is dedicated to the social and physical development of young children. Montessori Explorer utilizes the renowned Montessori Method to educate children; thereby, enhancing each child’s social skills while focusing on his or her development. The school's main goal is to foster the whole child to their full potential. Montessori Explorer celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2012 that coincides with the celebration of the first anniversary of opening its lower elementary program. Montessori Explorer is the first Montessori school to have an elementary program in the South Bay area serving Chula Vista, Bonita, Eastlake, San Diego, National City, Spring Valley, Santee area and Tijuana. The core principle Montessori Explorer follows is the most central to the Montessori philosophy. That is allowing each child to develop at his or her own individual pace. The 'miracle' stories of Montessori children far ahead of traditional expectations for their age level reflect not artificial acceleration but the possibilities open when children are allowed to learn at their own pace in a scientifically prepared environment. Montessori Explorer prides itself for having some of the finest and experienced Montessori Credentialed teachers and to offer small class sizes that promotes social and emotional growth. Our teacher student ratios are so low you will not find another school to match Montessori Explorer. Our ratios does not take in to account the interns we mentor each year. The academics are far beyond any other school in the South Bay area. See the parent testimonials and visit the school to watch the skills of children. Through the past ten years Montessori Explorer has produced young competent learner whose abilities have far surpassed the conventional public school education. Children are given the tools to excel themselves in a carefully prepared environment in areas such as Math, Language, Sensorial, Practical Life, Geography, History, Zoology and Botany. The knowledge of each subject exceeds what young adults know in some of the upper elementary levels.

Today, we honor the birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori — visionary educator, scientist, and advocate for children. 🌿 Born on August 31, 1870, she transformed education by creating a method that celebrates independence, curiosity, and respect for the whole child. At Montessori Explorer School in San Diego, we proudly carry forward her legacy through the materials she designed, the values she instilled, and the love of learning she believed every child deserves. ✨📍 Serving families in San Diego & Hillcrest | Private & Subsidized Montessori Programs📞 (858) 316-6001📧[email protected]@americanmontessori

In the Montessori classroom, Grace & Courtesy is not taught in a single moment — it is lived every day. When a guide quietly models how to care for a plant — moving slowly, purposefully, respectfully — the child absorbs far more than technique. He absorbs presence. He absorbs self-control.He absorbs care. These moments are echoed again when:🌿 A child stands to greet a visitor because she’s seen us do the same.🌿 A child waits patiently to speak, because we waited for her voice to finish.🌿 A child offers to help clean up, because she saw her adult kneel to wipe up a spill — without being asked.🌿 A child holds the door open because we pause for others too.🌿 A child writes thank-you notes because she sees the adults around her expressing gratitude with time and intention.🌿 A child sets down their fork to listen, because we set down our phones to hear them. These are the invisible lessons of Practical Life. It’s not about perfection — it’s about presence. When we live with gentleness, slowness, and grace… they will too.—🌟 Now Enrolling for our Chula Vista and Hillcrest Locations!📍 Visit us or schedule a tour:📞 (858) 316-6001📧 [email protected]

Building the seven triangles. They are both stumped by how to make an acute angle. If they don’t get to use their hands, they would not figure out. Always allowing kids to create gives the teacher insight into how the students are learning.

We are just one month back from summer break, it’s amazing to see all the great work our hardworking teachers have done. Kids are so enthusiastic and engaged. Klimt classroom even made homemade guacamole 🥑. Spanish sessions are flowing smoothly with children engaged in their Spanish work cycle.

Our school has so many tortoises because we have had baby tortoises each year. One of our staff who feeds them took this time lapse video of them enjoying their lunch.
