23 Donovan State Prison inmates graduate with UC degrees Twenty-three inmates at Richard J. Donavan State Prison graduated with a four-year degree from UC Irvine. It’s part of the university’s “Lifted” program — the first in-prison bachelor’s degree program in the UC system. NBC 7’s Dana Williams reports on June 20, 2024.

Check out the first-ever student art exhibition featuring artwork and poetry by our incarcerated students at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility! What an exciting opportunity for the campus community to experience the amazing work produced by our incarcerated students.

The exhibition, In A Perfect World, will be held from November 27 through December 11. The hours you can visit the exhibition are Mon-Thurs 10a-3p.

Congratulations to the Fall 2023 Southwestern College Graduating Class! The students were beaming with so much excitement and pride as they received their diplomas! Students earned Associate of Arts degrees in Sociology and Liberal Arts. Twenty-one of the 22 graduates have officially matriculated to UC, Irvine’s LIFTED Program, the first in-prison bachelor’s degree program in the University of California system.
