All three pillars matter because dual language is not just about speaking two languages, it’s about equity and excellence.
Bilingualism and biliteracy protect and grow students’ linguistic assets.
High academic achievement ensures rigor and no watered-down curriculum.
Sociocultural competence affirms identity and builds critical, culturally aware leaders.
Remove one pillar, and the model is no longer true dual language.
