Thank you to the seniors and parents who attended tonight's SDSU/UCSD Senior Parent Night. After opening remarks by our principal Dr. Salazar, counselors presented important senior reminders for college, financial aid, and scholarships as well as post-secondary options. We also extend our gratitude to our two guest presenters from SDSU and UCSD admissions, Ms. Angelica Landeros and Mr. Cylan Shaffer. They presented a detailed overview of SDSU & UCSD's programs and the CSU & UC application process. 👍🏽For those who missed the presentation, we will send the counselor slideshow through Jupiter mail and the Class of 27 google classroom tomorrow.✅️

AP and IB exams can be expensive. An AP exam costs approximately $99, but students who qualify for a fee reduction may pay approximately $53 per exam—and additional assistance may be available.

For IB, assessment fees can add up to $750+ for a student taking six IB exams. Students who qualify for financial assistance may receive significant reductions in these costs.

💰 The more AP or IB exams your student takes, the more your family could potentially save!

Completing the Meal/Income Application can help determine whether your student qualifies for reduced exam fees and other valuable benefits.

Repost• BGSH Student Services EARLY ACTION vs. EARLY DECISION: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

College application season is here, and you’ve probably heard the terms Early Action (EA) and Early Decision (ED)… but what do they actually mean?

EARLY ACTION (EA):
Apply early, hear back earlier, and you are NOT required to attend if you’re accepted. EA gives you the flexibility to compare your admission and financial aid offers from different colleges.

EARLY DECISION (ED):
Apply early to your first-choice school and, if accepted, you are generally committed to attending and must withdraw your applications from other colleges. Because ED is binding, make sure you understand the financial implications before applying.

Bottom line:
EA = “I want to hear back early, but I want options.”
ED = “This is my #1 school, and I’m ready to commit.”

Before choosing an application plan, do your research, know the deadlines, and talk with your school counselor! ⚡️
