Hello Friends and Followers! Chugiak Elementary is celebrating 75 years! Do you or someone you know have pictures from ANY of the good ol' days? Happy Summer! We are going to till the school potato patch tonight (Monday, June 8th) and will be back to plant potatoes Wednesday evening 4:30-6:30. Come join us if you’d like!

It's the last Monday of the school year! Drifters Coffee will be at school Monday morning through about 9:30 if you need a pick-me-up during drop-off or the morning singing performance. Get it while it's hot!

Bike to School day was a success. 🚲 🚲
Thank you to Chugach Mountain Bike Riders for all your help with getting riders ready at your bike stand, as well as your fun stickers and spokeos at your table.
Thank you to the Clean Air folks for the reflectors and pencils.
Thank you to our volunteers getting riders ready at the start, riding with them, and handing out refreshments.
Thank you also to the dad keeping kids safe at the corner, directing them down the shoulder to the sidewalk.
And of course, Thank You Mr.Schweisthal for this student favorite event every year!

At tonight's meeting, Principal Welge laid out the reality of what the budget situation means for our school next year. Depressingly, we will see huge class sizes next year no matter what.

Prop 9 on the Municipal Ballot will give more funding to the school district as the increased statewide BSA was not factored into the municipal budget. (The increased BSA means the local government is allowed to fund the district more). Below are some of the impacts our school will see with the extra levy money, if it passes, and without. Please vote in the Muni election by April 7!
