Camp Fire’s Afterschool Program at Chugiak Elementary is available for families to register for the 26-27 school year.

Registration is done online through the Camp Fire website. Financial assistance is also available on a first-come, first-served basis and is not solely based on income. Scholarship applications are available on the registration website.

The Chugiak staff had a GREAT first day back in the building, and Grizzly Donuts helped make it even sweeter! You put a smile on our faces and a little pep in our step as we kicked off the new school year.

We are so grateful for our amazing community partners who help us take care of our staff and make Chugiak such a special place to be.

A little Friday afternoon reassurance for our Chugiak families!

We know that some of you received an email from your child’s teacher today letting you know which homeroom they are in, while others have not received that email yet. Don’t panic!

Today was our teachers’ first day back in the building, and we have a few teachers who are just as excited and eager as you are to get the school year started! They jumped right in and have already reached out to their homeroom families.

That said, not all teachers have finished contacting their families yet. Our teachers are busy getting classrooms ready, planning, organizing, and preparing for the arrival of our students.

So, if you haven’t heard from your child’s teacher yet, everything is okay! Your child has a classroom and a teacher, and you will hear from your child’s homeroom teacher by Monday.

We promise — you haven’t been forgotten! ❤️

Last night, someone vandalized and destroyed the custom-made sign at our Rams Roots Community Garden, a sign that our school community worked hard to fundraise for and proudly displayed.

The garden represents so much more than plants and flowers. It reflects the time, effort, generosity, and pride of our students, families, staff, and community members who came together to create something special for everyone to enjoy.

As we head into summer, we ask our community to help keep an eye on our school grounds and continue looking out for one another. It takes a village to keep our school beautiful, welcoming, and safe for everyone throughout the year.

Thank you to all of our families and community members who care so deeply about our school. We appreciate each and every one of you.

As the year comes to a close, we want to recognize our amazing Elementary Student Council for their leadership, creativity, and dedication throughout the year! From organizing school spirit events to helping build a positive school community, these students have shown what it means to lead with kindness and teamwork. We are so proud of all they accomplished and the positive impact they made on our school. Thank you for your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to making this year so special. We can’t wait to see what you achieve next! 👏 🎉
