Here We Go Again! 🧳

Apparently my suitcase lives here now. 😂

Birthday Bash is behind me, and now it's time to switch gears because Sisters’ Retreat is almost here!

Projects? ✔️
Fabric? ✔️
Tools? ✔️
Thread? ✔️
Snacks? Obviously. ✔️😂

The next few days are going to be filled with sewing, learning, laughter and probably a little sister chaos.

Retreat mode: ACTIVATED. 🐝👯‍♀️

Tracey’s Tidbit 🐝

Here’s a little habit that can save you some head-scratching later:

Take a picture of your fabric pull BEFORE you start cutting. 📸✂️

Because somehow those beautiful, organized stacks turn into strips, triangles, piles and assorted bits remarkably fast. 😂

A quick photo gives you something to refer back to when you're trying to remember, “Now WHY did I choose that one?”

Simple. Free. And very helpful.

What a Week! 🐝

What a week!

Birthday Bash at Missouri Star Quilt Company was filled with beautiful fabric, familiar faces, new friends and lots of inspiration. I loved getting to spend the week representing Robert Kaufman Fabrics and sharing a little bit of what I love with so many quilters. 💛

And now I'm home just long enough to ask myself one very important question...

Did I ever actually unpack? 😂

Because the Sisters are headed out again later this week!

Blockbuster #35: Hidden Blooms REVEAL!

Remember last week when I showed you all my "good intentions" for Blockbuster #35? 😂

Well...

I SEWED THE BLOCK! 🙌🐝🌸

Meet my version of Hidden Blooms — Blockbuster #35!

This one gave me a chance to play with the Corner Beam, Tucker Trimmer, and Square Squared, but what I really love is seeing what happened with that fabric pull. Those pinks, corals, grays and blacks look completely different once they're cut up and working together in the block.

And after hauling the fabric around with every intention of sewing it last week, I'm calling **one finished block a WIN.** 😂

That’s the fun of these challenges. It doesn't have to become an entire quilt. Sometimes you make **one block, try something new, play with your tools, and call it good.**

🐝 This Busy Bee Is On the Move!

This Busy Bee is hitting the road again! 🐝🧳

This week I’m headed to Missouri Star Quilt Company’s Birthday Bash, where I’ll be representing Robert Kaufman Fabrics and spending a few days surrounded by fabric, quilters, and plenty of inspiration.

Meanwhile, Becky and I are splitting up! 😂 She’s headed toward Montana while I’m Missouri-bound, and we won’t meet back up until Saturday in Kalispell.

Different states. Different adventures. Same two sisters probably texting each other 47 times a day. 🤣

I’ll try to remember to take pictures along the way so you can come with me!

Well… I had good intentions! 😂

I brought the fabric. I brought the tools. I had a plan for Blockbuster #35 Hidden Blooms.

What I did NOT apparently bring was time to actually sew it. 🤷‍♀️🐝

So here’s your teaser: the intention was there. The blocks? Not so much. 😂

🐝 Retreat prep starts long before the bags get packed!

Our retreat isn't until the end of September, but that doesn't mean I haven't already started playing with projects. 😂

Right now, I'm in one of my favorite stages—fabric, ideas and possibilities. Pulling combinations, trying things out, changing my mind and figuring out what I want to bring to the table when we all get together.

There’s still plenty of time before I have to worry about packing the snacks. 😉

Blockbuster #35: Hidden Blooms

The next Blockbuster Challenge has begun, and here’s my fabric pull! 🌸🐝

For Blockbuster #35 — Hidden Blooms, I decided to play with contrast: deep blacks and charcoals, bright pops of coral and pink, and those softer blush and gray florals to give everything a little room to breathe.

Now comes the fun part—seeing what happens when I start cutting! ✂️

This month I’ll be working with three Studio 180 techniques:

🐝 Corner Beam
🐝 Tucker Trimmer (maybe)
🐝 Square Squared

I have my fabric. I know where we're headed. And I'm already curious to see if it looks the way it does in my head. 😂

Would you have paired the darks with the pinks—or would you have gone in a completely different direction?
