🧡All things spiders today in our Yellow and Teal Rooms at our Uptown Location! 🕷️ Using an orange balloon friends painted white onto black paper, which we will make into spider webs. Then to make spiders we cut a toilet paper roll and stamped it into black paint then onto white paper, leaving the outlines of spider shapes. Outside our spider fun continued as we made a sticky spider web out of painters tape in the door way and friends spent time sticking spiders (pompoms) to the web. We talked about how spider webs are sticky so that spiders can catch their food. 🕸️ Using a colander, dried spaghetti noodles, and plastic spiders, friends took turns pulling the dried pasta from the colander one at a time trying not to let the spiders fall. 🕷️ We also spent time talking about a spiders body and how many legs spiders have, and what they eat. We sang Itsy Bitsy Spider (alot), and even practiced the sign for spider. 🖤

Our NorthEast preschoolers have had a week full of hands-on learning and FUN! 🎃🧪🪴

Their Potion Shop is officially OPEN, and they’ve had a blast mixing, creating, and using their imaginations! They also got to smell the last little bit of basil from our summer garden before saying goodbye to another gardening season. 🌿

Yesterday evening brought even more fun with a car wash using a water pump! 🚗💦 And today, we welcomed the first day of October by cutting sponges and using them to create the cutest pumpkins! 🎃🧽

🩷 We had to try out making Dolly's famous Cuppa, Cuppa, Cuppa Cake today, and who could forget the ice cream. We worked on enhancing our simple math and science skills including measuring, pouring, scooping, mixing, and cause and effect. Practicing tasks such as working together and taking turns were also explored. When tiny hands explore the outcome is always amazing.🩷

Nature hunts are even more fun when you turn your discoveries into art! 🍃🎨 Our little learners at NorthEast explored outside, collected leaves, and then used their finds for leaf painting. Such a simple activity that combines nature, creativity, sensory exploration, and hands-on learning! 💚
