English language Learners (ELLs) whose native language is not English, who pass a screening interview, can commit to one year of class participation, and are not currently attending nor associated with a college or university. At this time there is not a charge to attend ELA classes. You may be asked to purchase a textbook. Is there a citizenship requirement to attend classes? You do not have to b
e a citizen of the United States, but your identity must be verified with a current visa, valid driver's license, learner's permit, passport or other form of official government ID. The ID must show your picture and include your name, address, date of birth, ID number and signature. Am I guaranteed class placement? Class placement is not guaranteed. If you pass the screening interview, you may be offered a class placement based on our screening. Classes are limited in size and run on an open-enrollment basis. Once classes are filled, you will be put on a waiting list. If you are offered a class placement, you are expected to attend the class. You may be replaced by someone on the waiting list if you do not attend on a regular basis. What classes are offered?
