A huge congratulations is in order to our Chowchilla Branch Library for being only one of 12 libraries in the country, and the only library in California, to receive the STAR Net STEAM Equity grant. The project will bring interactive exhibits and programming to the Chowchilla and Fairmead communities while also supporting the creation of science learning kits for families to borrow and explore together.

The STAR Net STEAM Equity Project is offered by the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute (NCIL/SSI), the American Library Association (ALA), Twin Cities PBS (TPT), Institute for Learning Innovation (ILI), and Education Development Center (EDC), with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Today, Friends of the Chowchilla Library received recognition from the Madera County Board of Supervisors for a generous donation to Chowchilla Library. Our local Ginsburg Community Room is getting a wonderful make over!

So, to our Wonderul Friends of the Chowchilla Library –
Thank you for making such a generous donation to the Chowchilla Library. Your charitable gift will be utilized to provide acoustic treatments to the Ginsburg Community Room. The Ginsburg Room has been serving the community of Chowchilla and our local organizations since February 25, 2003 and is an invaluable resource to the library and community.
We are excited to have the opportunity to provide a higher quality community meeting space for our public and service organizations, in addition to our library programming events.
Thank you again for your service, dedication and many contributions to the Chowchilla Library and our Madera County Libraries. Your support and devotion to Chowchilla Library and your community is immeasurable.

If you were not able to make it this past Saturday, we still have a few Ornament Kits available for Curbside Pick Up. Kits will be provided on a First Come, First Serve basis and will be available until supply has run out.

Madera County Library and our branches will remain open and maintain current operations during the next three weeks of the Regional Shelter in Place order.

Remember the four steps to keeping safe and healthy when visiting the library:

- wear a mask
- wash your hands and use hand sanitizer
- stay at least 6 ft away from others
- limit your visit
- children under 12 with adult
