Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools has joined thousands of school districts across the country in a first-of-its-kind study of public confidence K–12 education, led by AASA, The National School Superintendents Association, in partnership with ThoughtExchange. Strong schools build strong communities — everyone who lives, works, or does business here has a stake in how ours are doing. Tell us what's working well, what would strengthen your confidence, and what our students need most. What you say locally comes straight back to our district.

Today, we join people around the world in remembering Dolly Parton—a gifted artist, beloved storyteller and extraordinary humanitarian whose legacy will live on in the lives of millions of children.

Inspired by her father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read or write, Dolly founded the Imagination Library in 1995. Since then, the program has placed more than 300 million free books into the hands of children around the world, helping them discover the joy of reading and encouraging them to dream big.

One of the most meaningful ways we can honor Dolly is by helping her work continue.

Children from birth through age four who live in Oklahoma County—including Choctaw and Nicoma Park—can receive a free, age-appropriate book in the mail every month until their fifth birthday. There is no cost to families and no income requirement.

Learn more and enroll your child:
https://supportmls.org/imagination-library/

Her music will live on. Her kindness will live on. And every time a child opens a new book and discovers a world of possibilities, a little more of Dolly’s light will continue to shine.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing us how much one person—with a generous heart and a beautiful dream—can change the world. We will always love you.

Okay, kids—it’s been resubmitted for your perusal! 😊

There are always a few bugs to work out the first time we try something new. A few areas needed clarification, and a couple of things needed correcting, but that’s all part of the process!

With everyone’s help and input, we can create a format and shared understanding that will serve us well for years to come. Thanks for working through it with me! You guys are the best!

What a sweet way to start the school year!

Our friends from First Baptist Church Nicoma Park stopped by with treats for our staff and spent some time visiting, laughing, and helping us celebrate the beginning of another school year.

And the kindness doesn't stop here! They will be visiting our schools across the district, making sure our CNP staff members know just how much they are appreciated.

We are incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that shows up for our schools in so many thoughtful ways. Thank you, First Baptist Church Nicoma Park, for the treats, the encouragement, and—most of all—for being such wonderful friends to CNP Schools.

You certainly made the beginning of our school year a little sweeter!

📣 CNP COMMUNITY: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
At Choctaw-Nicoma Park Schools, we believe one of the best ways to improve is to listen. And now, we’re asking our families and community to share their voices!
We are inviting parents, guardians, and community members to complete a district survey developed by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA).
The survey will help us:
✨ Celebrate what we’re doing well
🔎 Identify areas where we can improve
💡 Better understand the experiences and perspectives of our families and community
📈 Help guide decisions that will strengthen our schools and district
⏰ It only takes about 7–8 minutes!
Our teachers and paraprofessionals completed the survey during our district Professional Development Day on August 13, and we are now asking our families and community members to add their voices to the conversation.
Your feedback matters. Whether you have a student currently attending CNP Schools, have a connection to our schools, or simply care about the future of our community, we want to hear from you.
