I attended a training last night that really made me think—kids today are getting, on average, only 4–7 minutes of outdoor time a day.

One of the biggest takeaways?
Children need opportunities to take supervised risks.

That might look like:
• Climbing a little higher
• Jumping from something a bit challenging
• Trying something new (even if they might fall)

When we allow this (safely!), kids build confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills.

Here at daycare, we’ll continue to encourage outdoor play and safe risk-taking—because that’s where so much real learning happens 💚
