You can be an informed consumer when planning for a funeral, especially when you plan in advance and are not overwhelmed by emotion.

Funeral Industry Transparency from a rogue funeral director with 20 year experience...

Here’s something most families don’t realize until it’s over:
🗣️Policies are not laws.
🗣️Funeral homes have internal procedures, preferences, and packages but that doesn’t mean you are legally required to accept them.

I’ve watched families spend thousands because they believed:
⚖️embalming was mandatory
🔐 certain caskets “protected” better
🏛️services had to happen in the funeral home
🏷️prices were fixed and non-negotiable

Transparency isn’t about blaming funeral homes. Let's see how many read that line before jumping into my comments section to scold me for attacking them.

Transparency is about giving families enough information to make informed choices.

I am so pleased to see other professionals being transparent online. We all want you, the unwilling consumer, to know this:
🗣️Ask for the price list.
🗣️Ask what is required by law.
🗣️Ask what alternatives exist.

Grief is heavy enough. Confusion shouldn’t be part of the cost. 💕
