On Thursday, August 6, 2026, VPK teachers and paraprofessionals from Jackson County came together to learn more about student engagement for the VPK classroom. Together they focused on the research behind student engagement, as well as participated in the tasks they will incorporate in their classroom that will support student growth and success.

PAEC provided professional learning for Calhoun County Elementary Math teachers focused on strengthening Tier 1 mathematics instruction to support student success.
Throughout the day, teachers deepened their understanding of high-impact mathematics practices, exploring Visible Learning, academic vocabulary, Tier 1 instruction through the Formula for Success, and explicit instruction through gradual release. Teachers also engaged in benchmark-aligned planning using the B1G-M to ensure instruction is purposeful, standards-driven, and focused on student learning.
We appreciate the dedication of Calhoun County Elementary Math teachers as they continue to reflect, grow, and strengthen their instructional practices to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed in mathematics.
