My little boy student brought me this hand cream for me. He said he gave the same thing for his mom and older sister and thought of me because I play piano. How sweet and thoguhtful! He made my day as he was my last student. How grateful and humbling moments when you are remembered to be cared for in someone's heart. Very special and precious. Never take it for granted.

Proud teacher moment. I met my baby former student who became a beautiful young professional. It has been over 10 years since we moved apart and reconnected. What a circle of life! Now we talked about grown-up stuff together, and I was so happy that she spent time with me. More to come!

2023 Winter Recital
It was an exceptional one. Everyone performed so well and beautifully. All their hard work paid off. I am proud of each one of them. It was a special experience to receive the best teacher trophy from my student as a Christmas gift. Now I know how it feels like when they receive the trophy award. Wishing many more successful performances and Happy Holidays!

Late posting. It was an amazing, amazing concert last Saturday. Sung Jin Cho performed Schumann's piano concerto under the baton of Jubin Metha with LA Phil. His performance was so sensitive and sublime. His encore, Chopin's Heroic Polonaise, was a spoiled treat. Most of all, it was an honor to listen to Maestro Jubin Metha conducting Mahler's Symphony No. 1. Everyone submerged into this great work of art, breathing together, and it wasn't questionable at all why everyone stood up all at once at the end, giving him a standing ovation. I was tearful with overwhelming awe of the performance. I set right behind the orchestra and was able to see him concudting right in front of me. I followed every direction of his fingertips as he conducted and literally fell like performing together. At age 87, he led the orchestra completely by memory. His energy, charisma, and knowledge of the piece proved why he's a legend. It was a moment of awakening. I am a musician, and I want to continually perform like him. I wish more people had a chance to join the experience of amazing performance like that. As a music teacher, it's my duty to promote classical music more to continue the legacy like this.

I just found out my professor passed away. Now, I’m an orphan in my musical world. Both of my professors who were couple passed away in a year apart, so I felt like I lost my musical parent now. They formed me who I am now as a teacher and a musician. Harold was a such a sweet, kind, gentle, and caring person. In every lesson, l was nervous but excited to learn from him. He was a legend to me and I felt proud of myself to tell people that I’m his student. Harold, thank you for all your teaching and guidance. It was an honor to be your student and friend. May you rest in peace with your beloved one.
