One other point to add is that there are many species of animals that have never been found to be in other areas. Such as a Jaguar from South America or a kangaroo from Australia or a penguin from Antarctica (and many thousands of others). How would two of these animals cross the ocean, get to the ark, survive, then return and rebuild their species without extinction or leaving any trace?

You’re not totally correct-it wasn’t two of every animal, it was that he got all The animals in pairs. 1 pair of every unclean animal, and 7 pairs of every clean animal.
So the ark would have had to hold far more animals than just two of every kind.
Also, they weren’t on the ark for 40 days and 40 nights, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. So they were on the ark for however long it took to load everything before it started raining, then they were on the ark for the 40 days and nights of rain, then they were on the ark for however long it took the water to recede.
And then they had to survive for long enough for plants to grow.

Also consider the ecological impact of mixing the oceans with every body of fresh water inland. Literally every single freshwater fish/aquatic creature would be extinct. The drastic and sudden change in the ocean's temperature and salinity would almost certainly doom thousands of species. Salmon refute the flood merely by existing.

Reminds me of when my daughter was 5 and asked me to tell her a story from the bible. (Her primary school is Christian but not too full on so I let it slide as it's a nice little school). The only story that sprung to mind was Noah. So I told her the story and at the end she was wide eyed. "What two of every single animal on the boat daddy?" "So the story goes my love." Queue her bursting out laughing and saying "yeah right".

I remembering reading some paper years ago that said they found evidence of a great and sudden flood in the area where Noah was supposed to be from. Only thing, it was isolated to this one area where apparently a large mound of land on the edge of the nearby sea eroded and failed, creating a giant flood that filled the valley.
The story of Noah was probably derived from stories about the event that had been passed down for hundreds of years, "enhanced" in a way to turn it into a parable, and eventually bastardized into the story of Noah.
The fact that people dedicate their lives to organizations that claim to believe all the nonsensical stories in that text is seriously mind-boggling.

It's also historically inaccurate. We have no scientific evidence for a global flood, nor does the math work out for that much water. In my view, though, it's allegorical. Human civilizations rose near water sources (drinking, fishing, travel) so naturally there are going to be flood stories. The desperate attempts by believers to come up with evidence to prove their Bible is sad.

I don't think it is even needed to analyze the ark story scientifically. It is obviously impossible and totally ludicrous. With God all things are possible (Matt 19:26). So basically God can magic up whatever it wants. If that is the case then nothing described in the bible has to be scientifically accurate.

It's a pointless argument, though. Not because it isn't true, but because the people who believe in it aren't going to be swayed by science. Believing in the Ark is about faith, and science doesn't enter into it. A theist, if they tried, would simply reply as they did in that damned movie. It's God's will. It's a miracle. The animals had enough food because God made it so. I know a few theists. The delusion hurts...

Years ago, I dated this woman who was a lawyer but also a conservative Christian. She wasn't too conservative, because we had an active s*x life. And one time, after we had s*x, we were lying in bed and for some reason, she started going on about how one day she realized how Noah's Ark was done. He brought all baby animals on board! 🙄

Noah's ark is a horrific story about mass murder, genocide, and inbreeding.
Yet told to children as a nice story of faith.
God was such an as**at. That he destroyed most of his creations for using a 'gift' that he himself gave them. Free will.
Then, afterward. He created the Rainbow. As a celestial reminder, to himself (all knowing god?)
To not commit genocide on his own creation again.
This story is Idiotic at best.
But nothing in comparison to the story of Job.

My favorite points to make against the ark is Ken Ham’s attempt to build one. He literally disproved the entire thing very thoroughly. He wanted live animals in the exhibits, but even with modern ventilation, that would have been a safety hazard.

Even if Noah could build a boat to store all the necessary animals and feed them and deal with their waste... they would have been instantly vaporized.

The lack of genetic diversity which would exist in all species after a bottleneck of one breeding pair is enough of a red flag for me.
Cheetahs have suffered genetic bottlenecks - the worst amounting to less than 7 cheetahs, and their gene pool is a gene puddle now. Every cheetah is basically the same cheetah, Xeroxed. All cheetahs are organ-donor matches to half of the cheetah population.

Another point is that the maximum size for a wooden ship, is about 300 feet. Any bigger and the ship will sag out of shape due to the limitations of wood construction.

it never fails to baffle me that christians truly believe the most utterly nonsense bs ever written in their book. For example Noah's ark. So in this post I will name every single reason I can think of why it's impossible for this to have ever happened. (feel free if you want to add more)
1 Boat size: according to the bible, the ark was a WOODEN boat over 100m long (134m precisely). It is impossible for a ship of this size to function properly, as it will start hogging and sagging. Engineers have proved this.
2 Boat material: as it's a wooden ship, Noah would have to find an immense amount of it. Located in the Middle East, where is he getting all that?
3 engineering. who tf taught Noah how to build boats? It isn’t as easy as making a raft it needs to be perfect if you want it to actually function. Was he in creative mode during all of this?
4 animals. how do you get 5 million species on that boat? “but it’s 2 of every KIND, not species“ That would mean that species would miraculously have to evolve from these kinds, which is impossible in 4000 years, thus cannot be true.
5 Flooding the earth in the first place. God is described as all powerful, but Instead of just making everyone he don’t fw disappear out of thin air he decides to flood the whole earth for a year. Letting innocent animals that can’t even sin just die. suuuuuper loving! also a bit dramatic
6 plants. Noah’s ark was 4000 years ago according to the bible. Also according to the bible, all plants were destroyed in the flood, but the oldest tree in the world is over 5000 years old. Did it just despawn and then spawn in again after the flood?
7 disease. The chances of disease would be very likely considering all of the animals onboard.
8 small insects. termites, ants, whatever it was, they don’t live that long. they were on that boat for a year. What fu***ng ant is in the first place gonna live for a year and secondly how do they just not get crushed by an elephant or some s**t. Termites and wood aren’t necessarily a dream team either.
9 animal s**t. Where did it go? God closed off the ship, and considering the amount of p**p those thousands of fu***ng animals produced for a year where did it go?
10 Oxygen. Like mentioned previously, god closed off the boat, including the ONE SINGLE WINDOW on the boat. how did they breathe? especially when lighting a fire + the other animals, oxygen would run out before the 1 year mark.
11 food. There is actually no fu***ng way you can fit enough food for thousands of animals on board, also, doesn’t it start to rot?
12 Killing (again). Offing everyone but Noah’s family, this would mean he would kill all unborn babies. Not so pro life there now innit?
13 repopulation. The same thing with Adam and Eve, how did they repopulate? In**st? Where were the genetical problems there?
14 how did they get animals from different continents? it was impossible to travel such long distance during that time.
15 After the flood, how did those animals return to their own continents? teleport?

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the entire Noah story is true and it happened as the Bible said it did.
How would you explain Kangaroos in Australia? Australia is some 6,000 miles away from Mt. Ararat where Noah's ark supposedly settled. Approximately 2,000 of those 6,000 miles is ocean.
It would have taken Kangaroos thousands of generations over hundreds years to cross that distance, and then somehow figure out how to cross the ocean.
We would find skeletal remains of kangaroos originating from Mt Ararat and all along their journey to Australia.
We don't. We only find them in Australia.
Now do the same mental exercise for thousands of different kinds of animals. There would be an massive, unexplainable fossil record of animals originating from Mt. Ararat and spreading across the earth.
It simply doesn't exist.
