🎸🎼 VIDEO 7: guitar . TREMOLO FINGERINGS: slow motion of a few proposed right hand fi*****ngs for playing tremolo. Which is your favorite? I suggest trying all these out and start slow to feel comfortable, then go faster step by step while always maintaining control. Also notice how I overextend the middle finger, when moving from ring finger? This is to exercise the muscle that ties the two fingers closely. Happy practicing and stay safe! 🎼😀

Over the last couple of months, I've been in contact with an instrument manufacturer from China, Aileen Music. They make all sorts of instruments, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, keyboards, and all sorts of accessories.

Their guitar division makes guitars under the Winzz name.

The company got my attention when a student came in with a Winzz guitar and it looked nice and sounded pretty good. I asked if I could see it up close and play it, and tried it out. The guitar had a decent tone and it was easy to play. The action was good, the intonation was satisfactory, and it stayed in tune pretty well.

This past NAMM show, I came across their name online and submitted a request for more information about them, and inquired about getting dealer pricing for resale.

They responded just after the NAMM show and we conversed numerous times about LearnGuitare and what I do. They sent me a quote on various guitars, nylon string, steel string acoustic and electric acoustics, and various accessories. Their pricing looked good and I thought I could do something with what they were offering.

A couple of weeks went by and after a few eBay sales, they wanted to talk to me about stocking their guitars and displaying them at LearnGuitare. I agreed and they gave me 6-7 different models to display on consignment, with the option of replacing each instrument as I sell them. They have a warehouse in nearby San Dimas which makes this very convenient!

I've had a lot of interest in them and sold one a week later to a student who was having trouble with her fingers hurting playing her steel-string JW guitar. I pulled a nylon string Winzz off the wall and had her try it, and she was happy that it played so easily and bought it the next week.

Anyway, I'll be posting more information on these guitars soon.

They are really easy to play, they have good tone and are affordable, and in a good price range.

If you're interested, get in contact with me and we'll talk.

A lot of live online lessons these days...its all good!

LearnGuitare is now doing live online lessons through Zoom!

Really quick...LearnGuitare has started Zoom live online lessons for students that dont feel exactly comfortable going out of their homes.

Its all good everyone. Yesterday I taught a couple of classes through Zoom. 6 ukulele students and 5 guitar students right after.

A bunch of private students as well.

Ill tell you folks...this has been one of those "with every cloud, there's a silver lining"...things.

Ive thought about it and its really true. Now that Im set up to do this, I can really teach those that feel my studio (In Chino) is too far away.

I wont have to turn away clients just because they feel its too far away for them.

Let's Do This!

LearnGuitare is now ready to take on live online lessons through Zoom!

Let's Do This!!!

My student Logan cracks me up...we started this song today, but he really does his homework.

He'll look up the songs we're working on ahead of time.

When I turned the page to start this song, he said..."this is my favorite song to sing".

Go Logan!

Congrats are in order again this week!

Kingston successfully completed the Hal Leonard Guitar Method For Kids Book 1.

He took a break during the summer, but has returned to pick up his studies where we left off.

Based on what he has learned, reading standard notation, proper rhythm and counting his beats based on a s pi specific tempo, he has done very well!

Welcome back Kingston!

Let's continue on with Book 2 and beyond!

Congrats to Christopher yesterday...he successfully completed the Hal Leonard Guitar Method For Kids Book 1!

He's been working hard practicing and understanding the importance of keeping steady time along with proper chord fi*****ng.

On to book 2 of the Hal Leonard Guitar Method for Kids...

Congrats Christopher!

Congrats to Daniel today...he successfully completed the Hal Leonard Guitar Method For Kids Book 2.

A lot of hard work, so congratulations are definitely in order!

On to book one of the Hal Leonard Guitar Method for review and beyond!

Way to go Daniel!

Working out our Barre chords in a rock format.

Go Logan!

Working with a young student who is very good at reading standard notation...this song came up today.

'In My Life'...a great exercise in the key of A major, and understanding cancellations with natural notes within a key following the chord structure.

Thinking about Dia de Mu***os at the same time makes this fit in the within the rhythm of time and the universe.

Enjoy the day everyone!

Just about ready for another busy Saturday at LearnGuitare...

Students of all ages and levels, so many different things to cover and improve on.

Reading standard notation, understanding rhythm (syncopation), working with tablature, songs and theoretical concepts, etc, etc, etc...

Let's do this!

Working with students on timing with popular songs.

Playback + is a great tool...you can change the tempo and loop any part of any song.

LearnGuitare "Guitar For Young Beginners"...

This young man has been doing so well. He's determined to get his full open chords learned.

We're learning Horse With No Name, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, and Fever.

Just a great time working with my students...

Keys to LearnGuitare's next chapter!

A note to a parent earlier today...

"Just a note for you...he's really improving. Lately we've been working on songs that he wants to learn.

The combination of the MIT method book and songs he wants to learn have been so beneficial to his progress, and he's having fun as well!"

A lot of students that work with me are the product of parents of the classic rock era. Their kids have grown up on The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple amongst others...

When I'm teaching these students, it's such a joy...it reminds me of sitting in front of my stereo listening and learning.

Let's keep on keepin' on!

I've had a number of new students starting up this and next month. A few walk ins and some continuing students from my City of Chino Hills Recreation classes. All a good thing for sure!

But none have pleased me more to have a returning student, Phil Clemente walk through my doors today with his guitar in hand.

Cheers to a new phase in your progress to reach your new goals brother Phil!

We'll get there!

I love that the publishers of the Kids guitar method books have gone back to include a certificate of achievement.

This is a big deal and quite an accomplishment for the young beginner!

Added a new student to a continuing group today. She fit right in and did great! We are 5 strong and working really, really well together!

Today's songs were 'The Star Spangled Banner', The Beatles, 'Nowhere Man' and Ben E. King's classic, 'Stand By Me'.

In addition to that, we learned various quarter and eighth note rhythms with various chords. By next week, we'll be able to play syncopated strumming patterns as well.

Really proud of this group...they are gelling and getting "in the groove"...

Another great Saturday for LearnGuitare!

More study on reading standard notation with emphasis on syncopation. Working with 4/4 time and how to create 6/8 rhythm feel within it.

Younger students growing with full open position chords and barre chords! Congrats guys!

Recognizing keys from analyzing chord progressions utilizing the "puzzle system"...

Working with alternative turnarounds for 12 bar blues progressions. (Great stuff here!)...

Songs for the day? 'You Really Got Me'-The Kinks, 'The Shortest Straw'-Metallica, 'The Best Of My Love'-The Eagles, 'Jambalaya (On The Bayou)-Hank Williams, 'Let It Be'-The Beatles, 'Your Cheatin' Heart'-Hank Williams...

Ok, here you go guitar peoples...name the following iconic axemen!

No biggie if you don't know them all...if you know just a couple or two, let it be known!

In the immortal words of Ronnie James Dio 'Shout It Out!!!'

Another great Saturday! More notation study and absorbing various new scales, improvisation, understanding keys and the scales to play to create individual melodies....

Relative minor keys to their major counterparts...

Songs for the day? 'Can't Hurry Love'-The Supremes, 'One'-Metallica, 'Hey Jude'-The Beatles, 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'-Stevie Ray Vaughan, 'Jambalaya (On The Bayou)'-Hank Williams, 'ABC'-Jackson 5...

Thanks everyone!
