While reflecting on the outcome of this election, I am reminded of the words a wise man once said, “Listening is where love begins: listening to ourselves and then to our neighbors.”
It was a beautiful day in our neighborhoods walking side by side with countless wonderful volunteers, day after day, weekend after weekend, who took their time to engage our neighbors and make our community better.
At its heart, this campaign was about listening: hearing the hopes, concerns, and dreams of the people in our community and striving to be a voice for them.
Democracy requires people who are willing to step up to the plate and fight for what they believe in. It requires courage to put yourself forward, to advocate for change, and to engage in the difficult work of public service. Sometimes that effort leads to victory, and sometimes the outcome is not what we hoped for. But the willingness to serve, to listen, and to participate remains essential.
Although I will not have the opportunity to serve as County Supervisor, my commitment to our community and fighting MAGA at all levels has not changed. The challenges we face together are larger than any one election, and the work of building a stronger, more connected county and country continues.
While this election did not end with the result we had hoped for, I remain deeply grateful for everyone who believed in this campaign, shared their stories, volunteered their time, and stood with me throughout this journey.
Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign and to all who took part in the democratic process. I leave this race with a full heart, immense gratitude, and a continued belief that when we truly listen to one another, we create the foundation for a better future. (Continued in comments)
