This Rudbeckia fulgida, or black-eyed Susan, is a seriously awesome example of why perennials are so great!

It’s blooming like crazy this year, and the best part? We get to do it all again next year. Plant it once, enjoy it for years.

This one is growing in a metal horse trough (year 3) at the YC Chino Valley Center Campus.

🌻Once the corn maze started taking off, a summer student tilled a 🌻strip around the outside and planted sunflowers. We’ve done this in 🌻years past, and it has always been both beautiful and effective. It 🌻gives the maze a nice border and adds another layer of color to the 🌻field.

We teach two very different methods for harvesting onions at YC: the humble method and the in-your-face method.

Both are completely acceptable. Both will get you a passing grade.

In undergraduate horticulture studies degree programs, you take courses in plant biology, botany, plant diagnostics, propagation and soils.

Our YC greenhouse tomatoes are still looking and producing amazingly. Students will be starting back next week and will manage this crop while starting their replacement. We also have the Prescott Heirloom tomatoes growing outside that need student attention.
