In April we focused in on some life skills as well as Earth Day. We talked about how we can care for the Earth and we even picked up some trash in the neighborhood.

For life skills we learned how to wash our own dishes by hand, cut food (with kid safe knives), and sew.

We also added a mud kitchen to our outdoor space!

Finished up our tree study which was perfect for the end of fall and beginning of winter. 🌳🌲🎄🏝️

We talked about different kinds of trees, their shapes, what trees provide for us, how we can help trees, animals that live in trees, the parts of a tree, how trees can change, and they were even brave enough to climb some trees.

Something exciting has happened around here! 🤩 Our teacher had her first baby recently! What does this mean for the preschool?

Adding a new little member to the Wee Folk Preschool program has been an exciting time for all. We are using this opportunity for our preschoolers to learn a bit about babies and life. In the real world, we are always around people of various ages. This helps us realize that there are different kinds of people at different stages of life all around us. 🌎

We are all learning together how to take care of our new precious addition! 👶🏻

What can preschoolers really learn from having a baby around?🤔

🧠 They learn:

-About human life and development
-About themselves and other humans since we all started as babies
- How to care for someone in need
- Patience
- Self control by being cautious and quiet when needed around baby
- Empathy
- That others have needs just as they do
