We are excited to be collaborating with Jefferson Teen Center to facilitate - Building Strong Communities - Next Week

Fuel creativity and hands‑on passion for wood working in this collaborative summer program between the Jefferson Teen Center and Community Works.

Although the flyer lists the Teen Center as the camp location, we’ve made a creative shift - the program will now be held at the Community Works shop off Center Road. This space gives teens more tools, more room, and more individualized support so their ideas can take shape.

Free meals, yummy snacks, and a crew of rad humans who love working with teens and empowering them to build, imagine, and create.

Thank you, Russell Family Foundation, for your continued partnership and support of Community Works. Your investment creates meaningful opportunities for young people to build skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose through hands-on learning. We're grateful to have you alongside us as we help shape the next generation of our community.

For some students, it’s their first experience in the working world. For many, it becomes a turning point.

Through Community Works, young people step into hands-on roles -- building trails, restoring habitats, growing food, and gaining skills they can carry forward -- while building confidence and discovering new possibilities for their future.

Community Works had the opportunity to build the Party Ark, a gift-giving vessel, integrated at the Connectivity Summit. We had a great time bringing an old project back to life and offering it as an intentional contribution.

Hands-on builds like this, projects that teach valuable life and trade skills while creating something that serves others, are exactly the kind of work we love taking on at our shop in Chimacum.

Huge thanks to The Production Alliance team for the collaboration and support.

Over the weekend, the Party Ark was filled with handmade gifts from and for the community, and it will continue to collect offerings at events throughout the spring before being presented at Rhody Fest.

This new name reflects how our work has grown, while remaining rooted in the same values that have always defined our organization. In our shop, people of all ages come together through community-centered projects that build skills, confidence, and connection while responding to community needs.

As Community Works, these values are expressed through a range of programs and partnerships. We offer several ways to get involved, including partnerships with Chimacum Valley Tech’s construction trades program, weekly student groups in our shop, open shop hours, and paid internships that support mentorship and workforce pathways.

Whether you are a student, educator, partner, or community member, there are many ways to get involved with Community Works. We’d love for you to help spread the word by sharing this news with friends, neighbors, or colleagues who may be interested in learning, participating, or collaborating.

Together, we are strengthening our community through meaningful work that makes a real difference.
