CHS Classmates of ’64 – it is with much sadness that I inform you of Jake McNeely’s passing.

Jacob O. McNeely, 72, passed away at Adena Regional Medical Center surrounded by family, Thursday, September 27, 2018 following an extended illness.
He was born December 23, 1945, in Wayne, West Virginia to the late Jacob O. Sr. and Liza (Wheeler) McNeely.
Jake retired from Wear-Ever and the Mead Corp and was a 1964 graduate of Chillicothe High School, a proud U.S. Vietnam Army Veteran and a member of Brookside Church. Jake spent this life remodeling houses, enjoying car shows as a spectator and participant. He loved talking with all is friends at Bob Evans, the Crispie Crème Donut Shop and Frisch’s. Jake loved traveling to Charleston, S.C. and said he would never get enough of that place. One of Jake’s most memorable acts was placing the first star at the end of Main Street with the YMCA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Andrea (Brown) McNeely; four children, Adam McNeely, Amy McNeely (George) Comstock, Nick (Amy) McDonald and Stephanie McDonald (Dean Bethel); a nephew, Parrish (Sharie) McNeely; a grandson, George Comstock Jr.; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Comstock, Mallory Martin (Casey) Wood, Anna Martin, (Noah Daniels), Jessie McDonald (Ronnie Guysinger); a great-granddaughter, Maggie Wood; a brother, Bernard McNeely and countless family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell McNeely.
Jake will be fondly remembered by many as a kind hardworking man who loved his family and friends with his whole heart.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Donald Rudd officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Grandview Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4-8 p.m. on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Hurricane Florence victims or to the Ross County Cancer Society.

Our next “Gathering” for the Class of ’64 is scheduled for Sunday, June 23, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, my house, 1200 N Malone Rd. We will continue with a short meeting regarding the 50th Class Reunion and VISITING, how our summer is progressing, etc.

I am sending this invitation out to all of you that I have emails. And if you are in Washington, California, Florida, Arizona, wherever, you are invited!!! Who knows you might be in the neighborhood and can stop by. I have Skype on my computer so if you want to contact us during our visit, please do so. The invitation to attend the “Gathering” is definitely sent to all local classmates, and we want to see you! You don’t have far to drive. So do your best to stop by for a chat.

I will provide Sloppy Joes and drinks (tea, coffee, Pepsi). If you want to bring a snack or your own beverage please do, but don’t let that be an excuse NOT TO COME. We want to visit with you and stay in touch, so come on out. If you need a map to my house let me know. We are located 3 miles from the center of town (Main & Paint) and it takes 10 minutes.

The profile picture of the Brick was wrong, my eyesight is not what it use to be!!! Anyway, I visited the Alumni Brick Wall at CHS entrance and took new pictures of the bricks our classmates bought. So we are now official - page for class of 1964.

Put on your calendars for next year - 50th class reunion for the Class of 1964 will be September 19 & 20 - Friday & Saturday. More details will be worked out as the year goes on, but we wanted you to put it on your calendar NOW so you can tell family and other organizations that you have a date with some old friends in Chillicothe OHIO. As you see other classmates tell them to mark their calendars.
