Discovery Garden Family Playgroup

Discovery Garden Family Playgroup Discovery Garden is a weekly, multi-generational family playgroup. We meet on Thursdays from 9:00 am - Noon. Discovery Garden opened on October 12, 2006.

The first hour is especially good for newcomers and children with sensory needs. Easterseals Central & Southeast Ohio, Inc. and the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library have been our steadfast community partners. Discovery Garden is a weekly, intergenerational playgroup for young children and their families. We offer imaginative play with lots of toys, art, group games, puppet stories, and soc

ializing. Everyone is welcome! The playgroup meets September - May in our playroom at the Main Library Annex (in downtown Chillicothe). During June and July, we play in Yoctangee Park at the Heilman Shelter. We're closed in August. No registration is necessary. Always Free.

Thursday, July 30:
The Mighty Children's Museum playgroup will meet in Yoctangee Park Heilman Shelter. Come for the water play, rope climbing, bubble chasing, and patriotic craft. Stay for socializing with friends. This is the last playgroup sponsored by the Mighty.

9:30 - 11:30 am. Free.

Oh, the weather outside is delightful!
The Mighty Children's Museum playgroup will meet this Thursday in Yoctangee Park. You will find us at the Heilman Shelter, just down the road past the Pump House Center for the Arts. If you enter the park along Mulberry Street, you will avoid all the construction.
9:30 - 11:30 am. Dress for water play, rope climbing, crafts, and bubbles. It will be great to play outdoors!

Thursday, July 16 news:
The Mighty Children's Museum playgroup will meet at the Main Library Annex this week due to temperatures in the 90s with a heat index over 100. That is too much heat and humidity for young children. Come play indoors. Enjoy a new game of "escape the lava", string a beaded patriotic bracelet, and hear the fairy tale "Rapunzel". Free family fun for children of all ages.

Because of the very high humidity (94%) and threat of rain this morning, today's Mighty Children's Museum Playgroup will take place INDOORS at the Main Library Annex. 9:30 - 11:30 am. See you there!

COMING THURSDAY, JULY 9:
A playgroup for children of all ages at the Heilman Shelter in Yoctangee Park, 9:30 - 11:30 am. FREE. Parents, relax and spend time with other parents as your children enjoy water and bubble play, rope climbing, crafts, and parachute games. If there is rain or thunderstorms at 9 am, come to the Main Library Annex instead.
