U-pick peaches are ready at Chico State farm Chico >> Sweet summer goodness seldom lasts long. Monday marks the first day for picking peaches at the Chico State University Farm. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon.The fruit goes quickly and sometimes the orchard is picked clean after a week.
