FROM COUNTY OF BUTTE:
The Butte County Library will open temporary satellite locations for its Chico and Oroville branches while both undergo renovations to modernize aging infrastructure and improve functionality for staff and patrons.
Regular branch hours will continue at both satellite locations. Security personnel will remain on-site to support the safety of patrons and staff, consistent with the library's ongoing safety measures. Due to the smaller size of the spaces, available services will be limited to hold pickups, book browsing, public computers, and programming such as children's story time.
The Chico satellite location opens Monday, August 3, 2026. The current Oroville Branch location closes on August 3, 2026, and the satellite location will open on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Construction at both locations is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
All other Butte County Library branches will remain open and continue operating on their normal schedules.

Oroville Branch
Opening: August 18, 2026
Temporary Location: 205 Mira Loma Dr, Suite 10, Oroville, CA 95965

🎨 A-MAZE-D closes this Saturday, August 1. Walk through this immersive art meets summer experience one last time this week during our open hours of Thursday - Saturday, 11:00am-4:00pm.
