Hands-on learning is an important part of the ROP Registered Dental Assistant program! Students are learning essential infection control practices in the lab with instructors Jami Clark and Colleen Salinas.

Through this experience, students are building the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and dental professionals as they prepare for careers in dental assisting.

Our Cohort #3 Dental Assistant Apprentices are getting hands-on experience in the classroom, practicing skills they can take directly back to their dental offices!

This earn-and-learn model allows apprentices to build their skills through classroom instruction while applying what they learn on the job.

Celebrating a Perfect Cohort Default Rate!

We’re proud to announce that Butte County ROP has received a Cohort Default Rate (CDR) of 0.0% for 2023, a perfect score and a testament to the dedication of our staff, students, and support systems.

The CDR is a federal measurement that tracks the percentage of a school’s borrowers who enter repayment on certain federal student loans and default within a specified time frame. A low—or in our case, zero—default rate reflects not only the success of our students after graduation, but also the strength of our programs in preparing them for meaningful, sustainable careers.

Even more encouraging, a letter from the U.S. Department of Education confirms that no sanctions or penalties apply, underscoring our continued commitment to student success and responsible financial stewardship.

Butte County CTE operates ​Butte County ROP, providing career technical education to adult in Butte County and beyond. ROP stands for Regional Occupational Program and is a state-funded Career Technical Education (CTE) program.

Happy Constitution Day!

Today is the day we celebrate the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed on September 17th, the day in 1787 when delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.
