Hello Wildcats! I hope you all are having a great summer and practicing some self-care! Some routines that really help is by removing or controlling clutter, we can directly reduce the stress from mess which can help us to less anxious, and more confident in ourselves! As well baths help because a bath can activate your parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for relaxation. As your nervous system adjusts to the warm water around you, you will begin to experience low levels of stress✨🩷

Happy Pride Month, Wildcats! During this month, we honor and celebrate LGBTQIA+ individuals. Be an ally and support your LGBTQIA+ folxs this June and always! ✨

This is an exciting opportunity to create public art celebrating Equity Diversity and Inclusion on campus! Submissions are due on Thursday, July 27th at 5 PM PST. Last but not least in our 22-23’ Staff post series, Indigo Silva ✨! She is a double major in art studio, computer animation and graphic design and has a minor in computer graphics. She is a transfer student from Modesto, her favorite food is her mom’s enchiladas and in her spare time she likes to hang out with her “cat who is also her son” and playing pokemon showdown. Indigo’s favorite pokemons are slowpoke and Gengar, because “Slowpoke is Pink and Gengar reminds me of Halloween”.

STAFF POST!! ✨ Sirena Rios, a Business Administration major specializing in entrepreneurship, has two minors in Studio Arts and Marketing. Originally from Bakersfield, her preferred activities include hitting the gym and enjoying quality time with her friends!

The 2023 Award for the Enhancement of Multicultural Understanding was confirmed upon our very own Romulo Howard. This award honors students on our campus who have significantly contributed to the development of a positive multicultural environment at California State University, Chico. Romulo’s Black Men’s Student Social Series and his BHM Block Party were highlights this semester. We’re so proud of the work that he’s done on behalf of our campus community and are excited to see where his next chapter will take him. Please join us as we celebrate his work!

It was a great day for the CCLC! We were so lucky to work with such an amazing group of leaders, creators and passionate visionaries. Our CPC, Anna Marquez, won our Charles “CC” Carter Transformational Leader Award for influencing change within others and oppressive systems to move diversity forward. Our CPC, Allen David Turner won the CCLC Heart award for his personal growth and constant contribution to creating a welcoming and inclusive home environment in our center. Our Inclusion Coordinator, Shradha Shakya won the Courageous Leader Award for being fearless in the face of uncertainty, risk, and exposure in finding her voice and empowering others.

We’re totally biased, but we have one of the most amazing staff on campus with some of the most talented, caring and heart – work oriented students. If the CCLC is anything it is because of them. We’re sad to see our seniors go, but we know that they will go on to do great things in the next chapter of their lives. Working in the CCLC is a vibe, ya’ll! IYKYK.
