I recently reorganized my shelves and realized it’s basically a giant TBR😅

And then I have a bunch of books I’ve read on my kindle but don’t physically have. Guess I got to get to reading more📖✨

s can be tricky! But now that I’ve stuck with the same system, tools, and techniques I feel confident in creating consistent results.

I did have a little learning curve when I moved into my new space, temperature and humidity definitely play a part in processing.

But that’s when client communication comes into play, if they’re unhappy with results I’m not passing the buck I’m making it right and fixing it.

I think we get a lot of shiney object syndrome in the esthetics world and with lash lifts it was the Korean method. I don’t knock it, but I think for someone new it can feel like they need to toss what they have and start over with all new supplies.

Sometimes it’s just sticking with what you have and putting in the work to see it through. I’m always for more education over more supplies/tools. But at the end of the day practice and time are what makes us better.

Massages aren’t just for relaxation, especially when you’re a beauty professional✨

Body work is so important to keep your number one tool working effectively: YOU! Our jobs require a lot of repetitive movements and abuse to our bodies.

We need to take care of ourselves and make sure we’re stretching, getting massages, and moving our bodies. This will help us feel better and be able to do what we love for longer.

The aches and pains aren’t something we just have to live with. We need to constantly maintain and heal our bodies. Massage therapy or bodywork being a great way to do so✨

No touchy🙅🏻‍♀️

Post facial or chemical peel your skin is vulnerable and healing. Leaving it susceptible to bacteria and inflammation. To avoid that we gotta keep our hands to ourselves, I know that dewy glow and soft skin is tempting. But it’s not worth it✋🏻

Post facial you should keep your day simple and ensure you’re regularly reapplying spf if you’re in or near the sun (yes windows count). You can avoid touching the skin by applying a powder or spray spf.

I also recommend avoiding excessive heat, intensive workouts, and make sure to change your pillow case and facial towels. A fresh start for your freshly treated skin. Depending on your treatment you’ll typically skip your nighttime routine and start fresh the next morning☀️

What I wish I knew before becoming a brow artist that doesn’t really have to do with my brow skills 👀✨👇🏻

Kill em with kindness, ok don’t actually kill them lol but kindness and respect are so important. Your clients deserve it, they’re literally supporting your dream. This is something that’s nonnegotiable and not only for your favorite clients, it’s given in full to each and every one of them, happily💖

I promise you don’t know everything, they don’t know everything, and I don’t know everything. We can all continue learning for the entirety of our careers. It only makes you a stronger brow artist/skincare specialist/etc. Be a sponge, learn from everywhere, even if the class wasn’t the best- I bet you learned something!

Instant results may work in the moment but I want my clients coming back for years. I’m fine with the lamination not laying perfectly as long as their hairs are safe and not over processed. I’m ok missing a couple extractions if it means I’m not causing unnecessary damage. These things matter and are truly so important.

If you want to be the best in your area, these three tips are what I live by. They’ve allowed me to build a full clientele and most recently open up my own storefront. I’m so grateful for my clients and work hard to ensure they’re happy. That’s the real secret sauce ✨👏🏻
