Meet our new piano teacher Ryan! Ryan is currently studying at Cal State Chico specializing in Construction Management. He’s been playing piano since age 7, and since then performed with many bands throughout his musical years. Ryan is an accomplished pianist, studying many different styles of music, including jazz and classical. He’s very skilled in performing the trumpet as well.

Practicing can be difficult depending on various noise restraints day to day. The Kawai AT-120 is here to mend those problems. This piano has full acoustic functionality to play all out during the day. Then once the quiet hours of night come around, you can activate the internal silent system which mutes the hammers and you can listen in to your playing through headphones. So you can silently practice while maintaining the true acoustic feel.

Piano Express! The piano is an essential instrument for every musician no matter what instrument they specialize in. This class offers an informational experience on the basics of piano as well as a solid foundation in music theory

Meet Michael 🎸

Michael Bone is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and teacher. He sang/played drums/guitar in local jazz quartet Bogg, and formed the non-profit Uncle Dad's Art Collective with friends, where he arranged/performed large-scale concerts at Laxson and around the North State. Prior to this he has been in a dozen other bands as guitarist, bassist, vocalist, songwriter, and resident music theory geek. Michael also started a weekly songwriting group called the 1Day Song Club where he has written/recorded over 125 songs. He loves instigating local collaboration and music education. He has several years of experience teaching music and art to adults with disabilities.
Michael emphasizes creativity and expression in both his music and teaching. His first instrument was guitar as a young child, and later taught himself drums, bass and piano in order to record his own songs in high school. During and after college, Michael became strongly connected with the local music scene and played countless shows in and out of town.
In addition to teaching, Michael now spends his time playing bass/ singing with Pat Hull, oil painting & playing piano for his daughters. You can find his current music and art at bone-made.com

Rising Stars! In this group class students will not only study the fundamentals of music in a team environment, but will also learn performance skills and participate in our seasonal rock shows with an abbreviated performance. Weekly rehearsals are 90 minutes and students have the option to add on a weekly 30 minute private lesson

The Samick SU-105 Console 🎹
