Early detection is the best protection! Women who are at a higher risk for breast cancer may need a mammogram before age 40. Ask your provider if a referral is right for you if:
• Someone in your family had breast cancer, especially at an early age.
• You previously had radiation to your chest.
• You have an Ashkenazi Jewish heritage.

A shout of thanks going out to our financial navigators!

A cancer diagnosis can bring more than medical concerns. For many patients and families, it can also create questions about insurance coverage, treatment costs, financial assistance programs and access to resources.

This is where financial navigators make a significant difference. The Financial Navigation team at Enloe Health Regional Cancer Center helps patients better understand their benefits, explore available assistance programs, and navigate the financial aspects of cancer care with compassion and expertise. Their work helps reduce stress so patients can focus on what matters most: their health and healing.

The role of a financial navigator is not an easy one. Insurance regulations, coverage requirements, reimbursement rules, and assistance programs are constantly evolving, making each patient's situation unique and often complex. Financial navigators must stay current on changing guidelines while helping patients overcome barriers to care and find solutions during an already challenging time.

We recognize and thank our financial navigators for the guidance and advocacy they provide every day. Their commitment helps ensure that no one has to face the financial challenges of cancer alone.

Today marks a historic achievement for our organization and region as the Enloe Health Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center opened to patients.

Jeffrey Hunt was the first patient to walk through the doors of the Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center on Sept. 28, 2026.

“The Cancer Center staff has been great,” Hunt said. “They guide you through every step of your journey and are there to support you along the way.”

The Enloe Health Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center, located at the corner of East 20th Street and Bruce Road, culminates a journey that began with a groundbreaking ceremony in 2024. The approximately 101,000-square-foot center brings together multidisciplinary expertise, leading-edge technology and person-centered support services in one healing environment.

The project also reflects years of community support. Dan and Dawn Gonzales contributed 13 acres of land for the project, and the Enloe Health Foundation’s Comprehensive Cancer Center Campaign raised more than $21 million to support construction of the center and the creation of the Enloe Health Supportive Therapies program, supported by the Aaron Rodgers Foundation.

We have moved!

We're excited to begin caring for patients in the Enloe Health Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center. While our address has changed, our commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality cancer care remains the same.
