The PTA WOG-A-THON is on April 8. We are looking for donations of “big” prizes to be used in our special drawing. We promise a lot more fun and excitement this year!

A NOTE FROM YOUR SCHOOL NURSE AND

A new law has been passed (AB354); beginning July 1, 2011: All students entering 7th through 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap (Whooping Cough) BOOSTER SHOT before starting school.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB AROUND THE WORLD
This Spring Break Camp will take youth on a journey around the world. They will discover and learn about a different country each day. They will also have hands on experiences with cooking, sewing, drawing, sports, movies and more!

FOCUS ON SECOND GRADE
We are studying life cycles and inherited and learned traits in Science, symbols of our nation’s capital and looking ahead to our big field trip to Shasta Caverns on May 11 and 12. Also, weall signed the “Take a Stand, Lend a Hand” no bullying agreement.

CHICO SCIENCE FAIR STUDENT/PARENT WORKSHOPS
The Chico Science Fair, titled “YOUth + Science = Future” will take place during the week of March 28, 2011 at Chico State University’s Farm Pavilion, located on Hegan Lane. Applications are available in our office. The deadline to turn in the application is Friday, March 11.

BOY’S AND GIRL’S YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINIC

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) nominations for students currently in grades 2-6 have begun. Students may be nominated by parents, teachers, school staff members or by the students themselves. Applications are due Friday, Jan. 28th at 3:00PM. Qualifying students will begin classes in 2011-12. Forms can be picked up in the office. For more information, please call 891-3000 ext. 157.

On Saturday , January 22 at 7 pm there is a Lawrence Hall of Science family show at the BMU. Tickets are on sale now at Creative Apple, Lyon's Books, The Gateway Museum and the CSUC Bookstore.
