Foster parents, social workers, youth or anyone else interested in better serving foster youth in our community, please join us tonight for:

Be A Champion for Youth: Foster Youth Rights Workshop with the California Youth Connection

This workshop empowers resource parents to create a supportive environment for their youth in alignment with WIC 16001.9. We'll explore the Foster Youth Bill of Rights legislation (passed in 2001) and the Reasonable and Prudent Parenting Standard. Learn how to better to serve foster youth in your community and support foster youth’s healthy development into successful and thriving adults.

Due to the quickly evolving Thompson Fire in Oroville we have decided to cancel tonight's class (POD 3: Attachment, Bonding & Trauma). We have trainers and participants in the Oroville area and their safety of our is the highest priority. We will work on rescheduling this class and let you know the new date as soon as possible.

Did you know? Next week we are hosting the training "Permanency Options: Reunification, Guardianship and Adoption" with Juline Aguilar, Director, El Dorado Center of Folsom Lake College Foster and Kinship Care Education!

Permanency is the goal for all children in foster care. When reunification fails, adoption is usually the next permanent option but sometimes guardianship seems like a good choice. Join us to learn more about the process, details and differences between guardianship and adoption.
