Good Morning Union City.

Today, January 9th, 2020, has been declared to be Law Enforcement Appreciation Day across the United States.

I want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate our dedicated and professional Police Officers and Staff at the Union City Police Department as well as the partner agencies surrounding us.

We are all very blessed and lucky to live in wonderful communities where we raise families who go to great schools and grow up in great church communities. We sometimes take this for granted. We assume that this just happens.

I want to tell you that these things occur in part, because of the peace of mind provided by wonderful law enforcement services provided throughout our jurisdiction and those around us.

These professional police officers have never been more educated, better trained, better equipped, more motivated, and fully supported than they are today. This is truly evident in the quality of services they are providing and the types of relationships they are building in the community.

I say all that to say this, I appreciate the opportunity to lead and serve with this incredible team of men and women. We are honored to serve and protect this wonderful community in this great nation.

I hope you join me in offering appreciation and thanks to the members of the Union City Police Department and the other law enforcement agencies in the area on this National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
