Sponsored by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the annual Junior Duck Stamp Contest allows any “K-12 student attending public, private or homeschool in the United States and the U.S. Territories” to participate by submitting an original artwork piece of a waterfowl, and an optional conservation message if so desired. In addition to the recognition that comes with participation in this contest, scholarships are awarded to the top three artists and the winning conservation message.

As a waterfowl hunter, a homeschool graduate, and homeschool dad, this is personal for me, and I wanted to make sure homeschool families across the nation know that this contest is open to homeschoolers. Waterfowl hunters across the nation are required to purchase a federal duck stamp in addition to their regular hunting licenses. Funds received by the federal government for this federal duck stamp are used to advance conservation efforts across the nation.

In addition, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has an accompanying brochure for homeschool families that can be an educational aid to you.
