Chichester School District – Advisory Budget Committee Guidelines
Objective:

To assemble a group of Chichester registered voters with diverse backgrounds and perspectives who will:
1. Review and analyze the proposed school budget.
2. Present observations, suggestions, and recommendations to the Chichester School Board.

Committee Composition:
The committee will consist of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 registered voters from the town of Chichester. The group must include at least one representative from each of the following categories:
 A parent or guardian of a student currently enrolled in the Chichester school system
 A community member without a child currently enrolled in the Chichester school system
 An individual with budgetary or financial experience
In addition:
 A member of the Chichester Advisory Budget Committee (preferred)

Eligibility Notes:
No permanent employee of the Town of Chichester or the Chichester School District is eligible to serve
on the committee.

Application Process:
Interested candidates must submit a letter of intent no later than September 9, 2026. The letter should
include:
o A brief summary of your qualifications and/or transferable skills
o Your reasons for wanting to participate
o The category (or categories) under which you qualify

Late applications will NOT be accepted.

Committee members will be announced during the September School Board meeting.
Committee Expectations:

Members are expected to attend School Board meetings from October through March to follow and understand the development of the school budget. Additional meetings may be scheduled as necessary.

Following the Budget Hearing, the committee will convene to vote on whether to recommend or not recommend the proposed warrant articles.

The results of this vote will be formally recorded and shared with the public at the Chichester School District Meeting and in the Town Report.

🍎 Welcome, Incoming Kindergarten Families! ❤️

We are so excited to welcome our newest Rams to Chichester Central School! If you haven't received your kindergarten welcome letter in the mail, here are a few important reminders as we get ready for an amazing school year.

📅 Kindergarten Meet & Greet
Wednesday, August 26 | 2:00–3:00 PM
Come meet our kindergarten teachers, explore the classroom, take a short bus ride, and drop off any remaining paperwork. It's a great opportunity to help your child feel comfortable and excited for the first day of school!

🏫 First Day of School
Thursday, August 27
🕗 Drop-off: 8:00–8:15 AM
🕒 Dismissal: 2:50 PM

For the first day of school, kindergarten students (along with all CCS students) will meet their teachers outside on the playground/field before entering the building. Teachers will be holding class signs to help students find their class.

✅ Before School Starts
Please remember to:

Complete the Transportation Form if your child will ride the bus.
Register for PickUp Patrol (registration information will be emailed to you).
Log into the ALMA Family Portal to review and update your child's emergency contacts, medical information, and immunizations.
