Today, we honor and celebrate those who have served our country.
We also reflect on how we can continue to support these heroes—not only in the past, but today and every day.
In 1942 during WWII, our building was established as Chicago’s Fourth Service Men’s Center. The building’s hotel rooms and offices were repurposed and in one of the theatre’s most remarkable transformations, the stage and front rows were removed to create a 12-lane bowling alley for soldiers to enjoy. By the end of 1945, we helped the USO house, feed, and entertain more than 2.2 million servicemen!
We're proud to continue honoring those who serve by partnering with organizations like Veteran Tickets Foundation - Vet Tix, which provides tickets to events that reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, create lifelong memories, and help veterans and service members stay connected with their communities.
