Educational Programs and services related to compost, compost benefits and use, composting, and all organics management (Food scrap diversion + all organics).

Available anywhere, including libraries, schools, and public agencies (ex. Park Districts). Composting Partners will be offering Aerobic, In-Vessel composting as an alternative to the Open Windrow technique. We look forward to collaborating with partners who are already collecting food scraps/bioscraps and who are looking for this alternative process which avoids adverse odor, environmental and infestation side effects.

When you want to get rid of old computers, furniture, home entertainment devices, mobile electronics, and other items, there is now a permanent recycling drop-off facility in Chicagoland. Anthony Tindall manages the Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability's Solid Waste Division and talks about the new partnership with South Suburban College and the creation of the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM). The center will repurpose, reuse, or recycle the items instead of putting them in a landfill. He also talks about what items can not be recycled.

Food…Compost! The theme was chosen based on a serious world-wide issue that every
nation, unfortunately, experiences: hunger. Compost not only helps the environment but
also helps to decrease food shortages experienced around the world. Join the IFSCC

The Illinois Recycling Foundation is holding a webinar on compostable products that may be of interest to USCC chapter members.
The webinar features a summary of the recent California standards legislation, followed by presentations of two compost facilities in Illinois that are using different approaches to accept them. EcoProducts and Better Earth Logistics/LHF Compost work together and take the vertical integration approach to control the process in Central Illinois. We Care Denali, through CMA, plans to take the third-party certification approach at their new Harborview compost site in Chicago. We look forward to you joining us on the webinar.
