Three Montessori interns, three weeks of summer training, and one completely unplanned RPMS spirit day! 💙💛💚

For today’s , we’re spotlighting Grace, Nichole, and Nadine, who are all working toward their Montessori credentials for ages 3–6. The three spent three weeks together at Seton Montessori Institute this summer—and happened to show up one day all decked out in RPMS gear, completely unplanned!

Their summer training is just one part of the work they’re putting in as they deepen their Montessori practice while learning alongside our children and experienced educators here at RPMS.

Thank you, Grace, Nichole, and Nadine, for your dedication to Montessori education and to our students. RPMS is better for having each of you on our team! ❤️

Thanks for all the love on last week’s : Summer Edition! ☀️ We had so much fun sharing a glimpse into our faculty and staff’s summers that we’re back with another batch just in time for Labor Day weekend.

🌎 Our Costa Rica exchange is coming to Chicago! October 2–9, students from St. Benedict School in San José, Costa Rica, will spend a week in Chicago, getting a glimpse of RPMS school life while also exploring our city’s history and culture through off-campus excursions. Each year, RPMS families open their homes to our visiting students—and in the spring, Costa Rican families return the hospitality when our 8th graders travel to San José. It’s a pretty special exchange in both directions. ❤️ These photos are from last year's Chicago visit—we can't wait to make more memories with this year's group!

What if understanding language starts with touch?

This week, the Montessori community celebrates Maria Montessori’s birthday, on August 31, 1870. One of her thoughts that we particularly love is, “The child gives us a beautiful lesson – that in order to form and maintain our intelligence, we must use our hands.” In Montessori, students use hands-on symbols representing parts of speech they can pick up and hold as they learn about grammar.

Montessori language materials help children make abstract concepts concrete. Thanks, Maria Montessori – and happy birthday! 🎂

For today’s , our faculty and staff are highlighting their favorite photos and moments of Summer 2026! ☀️ They traversed North America, acted out their villainous dreams, and even got in a little prize-winning dancing! Back at RPMS this week, they’ve traded summer adventures for a bustling campus: setting up classrooms, reconnecting with colleagues, and getting everything ready to welcome our students and families back for the 2026–27 school year.
