Happy Birthday! We can’t wait to celebrate!

Hey Friends!

It has been an absolutely bonkers couple of weeks, errr, months. BUT it’s our birthday today! I know, celebrating on a Wednesday before a day off isn’t ideal. SO- we’re celebrating our birthday this Saturday! You know, Small Business Saturday 😎

✨ Special Hours: Open from 10AM until 7PM!
📖 Story Time and Holiday Crafts with our friends at 11AM
🎂 Birthday Cake to share at 1PM
✊ Know Your Rights training with our friends at at 4PM

We made it the first year thanks to our community and we can’t wait to celebrate many more alongside y’all. This Friday, Saturday, and into next week- we don’t need to keep funneling our funds to the megacorporations that drop DEI initiatives at the drop of a hat, finance ballrooms while also trying to drive indie bookstores and local shops out of business, or can’t be bothered to speak out against attacks on our communities.

Our neighborhoods and communities are wealthy in immeasurable ways, maybe not on track to become trillionaires (ew), but we’re even moreso when we show up for each other and build locally. This week. This season. Join us in supporting local, small, neighbor-owned businesses. It’s more than just a day, it’s a culture shift that helps make our communities more resilient.

We’re ready to move from surviving to thriving. What about y’all?
🖖

✨ Did you know? ✨
One of the most magical Filipino folk dances is Pandanggo sa Ilaw

💃🏽 Born from the Spanish fandango but made distinctly Filipino
✨ Means “Dance of Lights”
🔥 Dancers balance three oil lamps (tinghoy) — one on the head and one in each hand
🎶 Done in a flowing 3/4 rhythm - a waltz with extra flair
🌅 Movements imitate the graceful glow of fireflies at dusk or dawn

A dance that’s elegant, magical, and uniquely ours. We couldn’t be more proud of our dance students after their first day of class!

We can’t wait to dance with you all tomorrow!
🙌❤️🇵🇭
