We are incredibly proud to share that Saint Patrick High School has been named the 2026 ISCA IMPACT Award recipient for School Counseling Program of the Year by the Illinois School Counselor Association!

At 5900 W. Belmont, Every Shamrock Succeeds is more than the name of a program - it reflects our commitment to knowing each student and supporting him academically, personally and socially while helping him discover and prepare for his best fit path.

Our Student Services Team was selected for this statewide honor for the impact they continue to make through their dedication and initiative on behalf of our students.

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Christian Ketter ’09 🌟

Christian Ketter ’09 has built an impressive career in law, combining academic excellence, scholarship, and leadership. After graduating cm laude from DePaul and John Marshall Law School, Christian became an attorney at Ottosen DiNolfo Hasenbalg & Castaldo Ltd., focusing on civil rights defense, estate planning, and appellate matters. He was recently named to the 2026 Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers.

Beyond practicing law, Christian serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at UIC and Northern Illinois University, General Counsel to the DuPage County Bar Association, and Federal Civil Practice Chair for the Illinois State Bar Association. His nationally recognized scholarship and commitment to education reflect the excellence and lifelong learning instilled at St. Pat’s. ☘️

It’s FRIDAY 🙌 and our first Student Leadership Convocation of the year brought energy!

Held every Friday and 100% student-run and student-led, Convocation gives Shamrocks the chance to lead their brothers in prayer and the Pledge, share school news and expectations, celebrate accomplishments, and hear from a different staff speaker each week.

This morning, new Dean of Students, Mr. Leyden (and former Training Coordinator for the CPD’s SWAT team) left the Shamrocks with a simple challenge when thinking about the work they choose in life:

Make it important. Make it bigger than yourself. And make it hard.

Today, our entire school community gathered across the street at St. Ferdinand Church to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit. ☘️🙏

As we begin another school year, we’re grateful for the opportunity to come together as one community in faith, and excited for the Saint Patrick Liturgy Team to help lead our celebrations throughout the year.

From ushers and altar servers to Eucharistic Ministers, readers and cantors, there’s a place for every Shamrock who feels called to serve and take part in our liturgies in a special way.

Week 1 looked pretty good on us! Flaherty took home the Freshman House cup 🏆, we welcomed our Shamrocks back home to Belmont & Austin, reunited with old friends in the hallways and made plenty of new ones along the way!

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Sam Maniscalco ’07 🌟

One of the most accomplished basketball players in St. Pat’s history, Sam Maniscalco ’07 was a three-time All-ESCC selection, First-Team All-State honoree, and two-time ESCC scoring leader. He finished his Shamrock career with 1,517 points and 361 assists, earning induction into both the St. Patrick Hall of Fame and ESCC Hall of Fame.

At Bradley University, Sam became a three-year captain and surpassed 1,200 career points before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Illinois. Today, he continues to excel as a Lead Territory Sales Manager for DePuy Synthes, overseeing one of the company’s top-performing orthopedic territories in the Chicago area.

A true example of leadership and excellence on and off the court. ☘️

Welcome back, Shamrocks! ☘️ School starts tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, with an ‘All Classes Meet’ schedule. The first bell rings at 7:55 am, with an 8:00 am start time.

Our faculty and staff reunited today for the annual Back-to-School Staff Retreat, beginning the day alongside the Class of 2030 at Mass before spending time together reflecting on the Lasallian Mission that guides all we do at Saint Patrick High School.

A special thank you to Br. Joel McGraw, FSC, for leading our faculty in conversation and reflection as we prepare to welcome our Shamrocks back home for another school year.
