It was a beautiful day to celebrate our 2025 College of Law Graduates at the Chicago Theatre!

The Honorable Franklin Valderrama, a judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and College of Law alumnus, gave the commencement address. He emphasized the need for civility and respect in the legal profession.

Interim Dean Julie Lawton urged graduates to stay true to their DePaul law roots and become purpose-driven attorneys.

Congratulations to the graduates and their families! We can’t wait to see what you do next.

🔬 Science education streamlined

DePaul and Rosalind Franklin Universities are partnering to create a direct path from undergraduate study to health science degrees, including medicine, physician assistant practice, physical therapy and pharmacy.

Through a new direct admissions program, incoming undergraduate students can apply to DePaul and simultaneously and earn direct admission to RFU when meeting academic requirements.

“The process of applying to medical school can be incredibly stressful for students,” said Dean Stephanie Dance-Barnes of . “This direct admission program will not only attract top-tier students, but also provide them with a clear and structured pathway into their chosen healthcare careers. By reducing uncertainty, we are empowering students to focus on their studies and prepare for impactful futures in healthcare — fields that offer both financial stability and social mobility.”
