Columbia’s Chicagoland Transfer Award provides ten recipients with $15,000 scholarships and one full-tuition scholarship to students transferring from Chicago-area community colleges. This year's full-tuition scholarship is Meliha Calisir, a film and television student from Harper College.
11 Columbia Students Awarded the Chicagoland Transfer Award for 2024 The Chicagoland Transfer Award recognizes transfer students from eligible Chicago area community colleges based on academic merit. The winners received scholarships for the fall 2024 semester.

Last week, Marcos Palacios ‘06, aka Kosine, came to campus to perform for students and impart wisdom as a part of the "Close Connections" series.
Kosine is a nine-time Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer and songwriter responsible for some of the biggest hits for Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Big Sean, Justin Bieber, Nas and more. He's also an on-air Personality for Apple Music Beats, host for BET's "ManCave," and actor on FOX's "Star."
