The Museum of Contemporary Photography hosted a celestial celebration on Leap Night honoring two iconic heavy hitters in photography and graphic design—Dawoud Bey, a renowned photography faculty member at Columbia , and Jason Pickleman from JNL Graphic Design, who created recognizable branding for many Chicago-based and nationally known companies.

The Bluest Eye: Exploring Transdisciplinary Storytelling at Columbia College Chicago 03/13/2024

Columbia's production of "The Bluest Eye" begins today.
A standout feature of this production is the collaborative effort across creative disciplines. Multiple classes, faculty, and industry professionals came together to bring Toni Morrison's seminal work to life.
“Our intention with this project is to emphasize the importance of conveying challenging themes with sensitivity and care,” Jeanne Petrolle said Interim Chair and Professor of English and Creative Writing.

$110,000 in NEA Grants Awarded to Columbia College Chicago Dance Center, Museum of Contemporary Photography 02/08/2024

Columbia creatives received $110,000 in National Endowment for the Arts grants.
The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago was awarded an $80,000 grant supporting a research study conducted in partnership with Rush University’s Center for Aging. The study will examine how dance impacts the quality of life for older adults.
The Museum of Contemporary Photography received a $30,000 grant that will support Regina Agu's "Shore|Lines" exhibition and related programming.

How a Chicago artist went from street graffiti to owning his own business Monarrez said he picked up his first can of spray paint at 10 years old. After getting in trouble, he eventually turned that creativity into his own business.

Student-Produced Musical Theatre Concert Set for Feb. 15-16 02/05/2024

In a first-of-its-kind performance, Graphic Design, Dance, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Acting, and Communication students are coming together to put on the Inaugural Musical Theatre Dance Concert.
The production will feature music and choreography from "Chicago," "Jekyll and Hyde," "Moulin Rouge," "The Lion King," "On Your Feet," and "Kinky Boots."
