Last night, our PRAA Center was filled with community. We want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate Carlos Flores, his work, and the opening of A Chicagorican Story. To Carlos Flores, curator Jorge Félix and his team, and everyone who helped bring this exhibition to life — gracias. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. ❤️

To our longtime PRAA family and all those who became part of it last night: your presence and support mean more than you know. It allows us to continue creating space for exhibitions, preserving and sharing our stories, and paving the way for the next generation through arts and music education.

And if you couldn’t join us, A Chicagorican Story is just getting started. The exhibition remains open during PRAA gallery hours, and we hope to welcome you soon.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Chicago. 🇵🇷🖤Feel free to leave us, or Carlos Flores, a message below if you experienced it 📷

What does Carlos Flores hope you take with you when you experience A ChicagoRican Story?

In his own words, Carlos shares what he hopes visitors will see, feel, and understand through his photographs—images that preserve more than five decades of Puerto Rican life, community, struggle, memory, and resistance in Chicago.
These photographs are more than historical documents. They are memories. They are testimony. They are part of a community story that continues to be written.

Come hear Carlos’s story. Come see Chicago through his eyes.
